Note from Kevin: The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for three months. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Your registration will be effective for five years. [ CLICK HERE TO STOP THE CALLS ] [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] December 07, 2004 (AM)-I just got a call for help... from MCI.
oh, but have you checked... MCIP? Note from Kevin: This is so sad, I'm not even going to tell you about it. The guy was even silly enough to offer a call from "E Hackenson." I took most of her employees when we rolled in UUNET... but I guess she hung in there. Of course, you might have trouble believing this, but I spent 10 minutes doing what I could to help. Yes, the MCI.COM site is down, but the MCIP stock is on its way back up to where it started... Maybe that means someone'll get some 401K money back from them! [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] December 01, 2004 (PM)-Kacy in her Saucer!

October 14, 2004 (early AM)-An "outsider's" view of how this started...
Note from Kevin: Ellen was right. I remember her making a comment
- something like what she described in her email message - to Melanie, about Kim. I remember
trying to be cool and act like I wasn't listening to them talking... Everybody was trying to figure out
when I was going to make a play for Kim. I started no less than 1 second from the time I laid
eyes on her, and after I met her, and shook her hand (what an incredible hand shalke!!), and had her
exchange smiles with me and... then when she clicked her heels, together! I was certain we were going
to be TOGETHER one day. We should write a book about the days from that special day in August, 1999
until the Wonderful day we got married, exactly 4 years, ago, today! Thank you, Kim.

2 month old... KACY CROTHERS Kacy was measured at this 2 month visit, and read:
Note from Kim and Kevin: Kacy is smiling! Quinn and Kacy both had checkups this morning... Quinn had his three year checkup and Kacy had her two month checkup! Both went great! Quinn is still at the 93rd percentile on his height... I think he is going to be TALL! Kacy weighed 12 pounds and 13 ounces and was 23 and 1/4 inches tall. She had to get three shots, but did really good and is doing fine, now! We went and looked at rocker/gliders at Miskelly's tonight... I brought home a couple of fabric samples, but none are going to work for Kacy's room! Quinn had fun playing at Miskelly's... they have a really nice kid area, now - and Cullan has to keep it up!! 'Looks like a trip to PlayPen might be needed... [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] September 09, 2004 (late PM)-Kim took some pictures of our kids, today... 2 year, 10 month old... Note from Kevin: Many people tried to take him down, but he's standing tall and smiling while he's smoking his big cigars - just like the Bernie I knew years ago! I saw him on the patio of Paul George's Reservoir Point, tonight, when Tom McDonald and I were walking out of our Harbortowne Property Owners' Association meeting. We had a great conversation. We patted each others backs and shook hands twice (still has his good hand shake) and he looks and sounds great! He was there with Bill Grothe and KLLM's people... He owns that one, too, right!?! Go Bernie! [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] September 08, 2004 (AM)-Russia is about to flex their muscles. Get ready to be surprised. Note from Kevin: Russia's top general said on Wednesday he was ready to attack "terrorist bases" anywhere in the world, as security services put a $10 million bounty on two Chechen rebels blamed for last week's school siege. "As for launching pre-emptive strikes on terrorist bases, we will carry out all measures to liquidate terrorist bases in any region of the world," General Yuri Baluevsky, chief of Russia's general staff, said, according to Russian news agencies. "However, this does not mean that we will launch nuclear strikes." NOT, YET! [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] August 24, 2004 (PM)-If you've visited netscape.com, lately... Note from Kevin: Anyone who visits the NETSCAPE.COM site - with a non-Netscape 7.2 browser, gets this full page Netscape 7.2 notice/advertisement. That's because when you load the page, Netscape sets a "detour" cookie that expires one time each month. If that cookie is not set and you're not on Netscape 7.2, you get the upgrade to Netscape 7.2 information page. To all those morons who kept telling me over and over and over how Netscape was dead and that I just needed to accept it and move to the browser EVERYONE uses... "I hope all of you have enjoyed the mess you've made. Your Internet Escape browser is just that - a place for bad people's malicious code to escape the Internet, and invade your - and others' - private property. You were mislead and created a lot of work for the ones of us who are able to clean up. Now, I ask you to support Mozilla is gaining momentum and getting some major support. We - all four of us - watched the men's 400m, tonight... a USA guy won in 44.00 seconds and the USA took the gold, silver, and bronze medals! and goodness is the USA... Note from Kevin: Kacy is growing strong. She's sort of trying to verbally communicate with Kim; we have no idea what she is saying, but she is actually trying to make something other than a grunt, scream, or groan come out of her mouth, and she is looking straight into Kim's eyes when she makes these odd sounds. Kevin, Kim, Quinn, and... Kacy CROTHERS Note from Kevin: At least one of us kept our eyes on little Kacy just about every minute of the 1.75 days we were at the hospital. The three of us slept in Kim's room (#369). Kacy sleeps almost all the time - except from 12:00 AM to 03:00 AM... When she's not sleeping, she's either feeding (from Kim, of course) - sometimes for over 30 minutes at a time - very well, actually! - or quietly looking all around the room. Her hands and feet are extremely nimble and very well developed. She looks like Kim and Kevin - amazing, actually. 'Very, Very, Very attractive. July 02, 2004 (AM)-Get ready to slam Kerry this July 4th weekend, because he sure doesn't see to have a history for supporting our country...
Is Kerry fit for this race... OR OUR COUNTRY? Note from Kevin: This man seems to have a past... and it doesn't look very attractive to me. Man who should not be commander in chief By JOHN O'NEILL In 1971, I debated John Kerry, then a national spokesman for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, for 90 minutes on The Dick Cavett Show. The key issue in that debate was Kerry's claim that American troops were committing war crimes in Vietnam "on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command." Now, as Sen. Kerry emerges as the presumptive Democratic nominee for the presidency, I've chosen to re-enter the fray. Like Kerry, I served in Vietnam as a Swift Boat commander. Ironically, Kerry and I served much of our time, a full 12 months in my case and a controversial four months in his, commanding the exact same six-man boat, PCF-94, which I took over after he requested early departure. Despite our shared experience, I still believe what I believed 33 years ago -- that Kerry slandered America's military by inventing or repeating grossly exaggerated claims of atrocities and war crimes to advance his own political career as an antiwar activist. His misrepresentations played a significant role in creating the negative and false image of Vietnam vets that has persisted for more than three decades. Neither I, nor any man I served with, ever committed any atrocity or war crime in Vietnam. The opposite was the truth. Rather than use excessive force, we suffered casualty after casualty because we chose to refrain from firing rather than risk injuring civilians. More than once, I saw friends die in areas we entered with loudspeakers rather than guns. Kerry's accusations then and now were an injustice that struck at the soul of anyone who served there. During my 1971 televised debate with Kerry, I accused him of lying. I urged him to come forth with affidavits from the soldiers who had claimed to have committed or witnessed atrocities. To date no such affidavits have been filed. Recently, Kerry has attempted to reframe his comments as youthful or "over the top." Yet always there has been a calculated coolness to the way he has sought to destroy the record of our honorable service in the interest of promoting his political ambitions of the moment. John Kennedy's book, Profiles in Courage, and Dwight Eisenhower's Crusade in Europe inspired generations. Not so Kerry, who has suppressed his book, The New Soldier, prohibiting its reprinting. There is a clear reason for this. The book repeats Kerry's insults to the American military, beginning with its front-cover image of the American flag being carried upside down by a band of bearded renegades in uniform -- a clear slap at the brave Marines in their combat gear who raised our flag at Iwo Jima. Allow me the reprint rights to your book, Kerry, and I will make sure copies of The New Soldier are available in bookstores throughout America. Vietnam was a long time ago. Why does it matter today? Since the days of the Roman Empire, the concept of military loyalty up and down the chain of command has been indispensable. The commander's loyalty to the troops is the price a commander pays for the loyalty of the troops in return. How can a man be commander in chief who for more than 30 years has accused his "Band of Brothers," as well as himself, of being war criminals? On a practical basis, Kerry's breach of loyalty is a prescription of disaster for our armed forces. Kerry's recent admissions caused me to realize that I was most likely in Vietnam dodging enemy rockets on the very day he met in Paris with Madame Binh, the representative of the Viet Cong to the Paris Peace Conference. Kerry returned to the United States to become a national spokesman for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, a radical fringe of the antiwar movement, an organization set upon propagating the myth of war crimes through demonstrably false assertions. Who was the last American POW to die languishing in a North Vietnamese prison forced to listen to the recorded voice of Kerry disgracing their service by his dishonest testimony before the Senate? Since 1971, I have refused many offers from Kerry's political opponents to speak out against him. My reluctance to become involved once again in politics is outweighed now by my profound conviction that Kerry is simply not fit to be America's commander in chief. Nobody has recruited me to come forward. My decision is the inevitable result of my own personal beliefs and life experience. Today, America is engaged in a new war, against the militant Islamist terrorists who attacked us on our own soil. Reasonable people may differ about how best to proceed, but I'm sure of one thing -- Kerry is the wrong man to put in charge. O'Neill, a Houstonian, served in Coastal Division 11 in 1969-70, winning two Bronze Stars and additional decorations for his service in Vietnam. Reprinted by permission of the Wall Street Journal. Quinn at the Scott Aquarium Note from Kim: My roommate from college, Christy got married this weekend in Ocean Springs....so we made a mini vacation out of it!!! Quinn had a blast staying in the hotel, he thought it was really neat! We did a lot in the short amount of time we were there .... we arrived Friday night and since it was kind of late, we just hung out in our hotel. On Saturday morning we took Quinn to the Scott Aquarioum for a couple of hours, he LOVED it! Then we had to get ready for the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and the reception was in the Ocean Springs Community Center which is part of the Walter Anderson Museum, its a really neat place.... all of the walls had been covered from floor to ceiling by a Walter Anderson mural. I had fun getting to see old friends who I literally haven't seen in YEARS!!! Quinn had fun running around chasing other kids and listening to the band! That night we took Quinn to see Garfield, the movie, in Gulfport...
he sat totally still through the whole movie and has told us several times since that he wants to go see Garfield again :) He ate a whole hotdog and tons of popcorn during the movie. On Sunday, Father's Day, we took it easy and stayed at the hotel until checkout around 11:30..... we went out for a Father's Day Lunch and took Quinn to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. It was a short, but fun mini-vacation.... I wish I had more pictures to post of the wedding, aquarium, etc, but we had our camera on the wrong setting and most of the pictures turned out kind of blurry.... Note from Kim and Quinn: We love you and wish you a wonderful 40th birthday! You make 40 seem So YoUnG! Kevin got one of his birthday presents a few days early this year..... a laser level. He told me its the best birthday present he's ever gotten. He's already gotten to use it .... I've created a nightmare of a design for the baby's room....squares all over the room..... so he will get tons of use out of it over the next few weeks :) We've been eating birthday cake for a week now.... this happens every year since my birthday is exactly one week before Kevins... Quinn was even eating some of my birthday cake this morning!!!! My cake is lasting longer than it normally does....Kevin and Quinn made an enormous cake for me this year... it had three layers! So maybe Kevin will have birthday fudgies instead of cake this year.....:) All of this birthday eating will probably make me (and baby girl) gain about 10 pounds before our next dr visit! :( HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVIN! Watching this movie was a trip. We found it highly entertaining, thought-provoking, and over-all impressive. For those people who say it's an "anti-Bush" movie... it sure ends with positive notes about what happens - not negative. So, either the "anti-Bush'ers" screwed up, or some of you are confused. and HarborTowne is about to be on the... HARBORWALK Note from Kim and Kevin: This is exciting for us! Our neighborhood (Harbortowne) is the only one in this area between Old Trace Park and the Breakers, and so will be the only one "on" the HarborWalk. To get to where "the Dock" is at this time, it's a 1.2 mile walk from from our house, down the levee... so, we'll be a 15 minute walk from the center of the "Town Center of the Ross Barnett Reservoir" (HarborWalk). Imagine the possibility of living, working, eating, shopping, boating and enjoying life within one community, a community that will be comprised of over one million square feet of retail, restaurant, office, hotel and condominium space through phase 1 and ultimately over three and one half million square feet covering over 125 acres of beautiful waterfront property. This is Harbor Walk, the development of Main Harbor Development, LLC. Situated on the old Main Harbor Marina location of the 33,000-acre Ross Barnett Reservoir in Ridgeland, Mississippi, this mixed-use development will be one of the most important developments in the State of Mississippi if not the region. This project has been described to be the Town Center of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. With existing developments such as Harbortowne, Overlook Pointe, Roses Bluff, Palisades and the new Traditional Neighborhood Development Town of Lost Rabbit; Harbor Walk promises to complete the puzzle making the reservoir the premier place to live, work and have fun. We call it Quality of Life. While all of these communities are currently connected via vehicular access, the Pearl River Water Supply District is moving forward with implementing a water taxi system that will link all of these communities via water. When implemented these taxis will traverse from neighborhood to neighborhood and to the Harbor Walk Marina. The design of this community will be based upon an urban harbor town. The streets will be designed to replicate a typical urban street not unlike those in many of our favorite urban centers such as Baltimore and Boston. The buildings in the first phase will range from six to seven stories and will wrap around this street . The ground level will feature only retail and restaurants while the upper levels of the buildings will include condominiums, professional offices, hotel, spa and meeting facilities. These buildings will face the Marina or Harbor. Between the Harbor and the buildings will be the grand street as well as a green belt park on which many activities such as open-air markets, entertainment or just relaxing will take place. At the center of the development will rest a 4.5 star 200-room boutique hotel.
The owner has received a letter from the Valencia Hotel Group expressing their commitment to Harbor Walk. [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] May 13, 2004 (PM)-Bill and Monica caused some "... very unusual activity..."
when "sex-and-perjury" was... PUBLISHED ON THE WEB Note from Kevin: WorldCom's Internet Systems manager... Yes, I guess I was just that for a good while... THANK GOODNESS [ I moved on! ] -- Kenneth Starr's sex-and-perjury report to Congress. It's a watershed moment for the Net, because this marks the first time that people are relying on it -- rather than television or the radio -- to receive the details of a major news event. Network traffic around the capital increased dramatically. Normal peak Internet traffic for the metropolitan area is around 1,680 Mbits per second. Today, traffic increased to unprecedented levels, peaking at 1,795 Mbits per second, according to WorldCom in Jackson, Mississippi. WorldCom runs the MAE EAST peering facility, one of the biggest Internet interchanges in the country. A graph supplied to Wired News by WorldCom depicts the traffic peaking at 4 pm EDT. "This is very unusual activity," said Kevin Crothers, WorldCom Internet systems manager. He added that the MCI Interconnect Gateway, which links the White House to the Internet, saw the most traffic, with evidence of between 20 and 30 million hits and some site failures. - WIRED - 04:55 PM Sep. 11, 1998 PT [Post a Reply to this Note] [Top of Page] May 10, 2004 (AM)-Please read and consider this (and the note beneath it): from James Lair (jlair@ojaiclc.org) Senior Pastor, Church of the Living Christ - I recently attended the National Pastors Convention in San Diego with several
thousand pastors from many different denominations. During one of the general
sessions, the MC introduced a pastor from Uzbekistan. He had traveled the
farthest to attend the convention, so they wanted to interview him. I don't
remember his name, and even if I did, I know I couldn't pronounce it. However, I
do know this: I will never forget this man.
Right away, I liked him. He was humble, sincere, and gracious. He apologized for his broken English, though I thought he spoke very well. As the MC interviewed him, he began to share about his ministry in his country that borders Afghanistan. He talked about the church he pastors of a few hundred people. He also shared how it is illegal in his country to be a Christian. You see, his church is an "underground" church. Amazingly, his city also has 3 "underground" Christian schools. He talked about how the Christians have been arrested and even killed in his country. Then, as the interview was about to end, he began to speak very urgently and passionately. He said something to this effect: "I would like all of you to know that my church and the Christians in my country are praying that President Bush will be reelected." I was stunned. I knew that this gathering had to include many pastors from all over the political spectrum and I was certain this would not go over well. Immediately, there were murmuring and rumblings throughout the audience and the MC seemed a little uncertain about what to do next. However, this pastor would not be denied. Grasping the microphone firmly in his hand, he continued, "The officials in my country are afraid of President Bush, so they don't persecute Christians as much. Under Clinton it was very bad for us. Many of us were arrested, put in jail, and some were killed. With Clinton, it was very bad. But under President Bush, it has been so much better, so we are praying for him." The murmuring ended. It was suddenly very quiet. The MC paused. Then he just asked us to stand and pray for this man and we did so with great passion. Choking back tears, I was immediately struck with this realization in my heart: this coming election was not just about me or my church or my country. This coming election would affect the entire world. And while there are many Christians and churches in this country that may not support and may even despise our current President, there is a group of Christians halfway around the world who are desperately praying for his reelection. All of the sudden, the election became something very different for me. It is not just about the economy, gay marriage, or weapons of mass destruction. It's about the persecuted church around the world. As believers, what issues should be more important to us? This transcends politics. This is about the Kingdom of God for which Christ suffered and died, and for those believers in other countries who are suffering and dying as well. I was also convicted in my heart about praying for our President. And I wonder, which church is praying more fervently for him: the persecuted church in Uzbekistan or the prosperous church in America? It makes you think. As the Apostle Paul said in Hebrews 13:3, "Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." Remember, this election is not just about us. It's about them, too. Friends, we are all so busy with worth while things, let this be a reminder to not become too busy to pray for our President and this Nov. election every day. Note from Kevin: Dr. Lynch sent this message to me. He is a very good man, with a very good head on his shoulders and a good heart. Please look past the dirt slinging of these poor democrats. They have weathered priorities, and have lost trust in the strength of the people of this country. People are much happier when they work for their money. These government hand outs need republican control and President George Bush has proven he can deliver it! Help us to allow him to continue. Vote BUSH!
